Hymns of the Week: 12th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year C

After my brief foray into politics at the end of last week, normal service resumes...

Entrance: At the Name of Jesus
Offertory: Gifts of Bread and Wine
Communion: One Bread, One Body
Recessional:
Follow Me (it's on the hymns-that-make-me-laugh list, but I'll try to behave)

  1. Is "Follow Me" the one that is in 3/4, and could sound like a merry-go-round type of song? Makes me laugh too, if it's the one I'm thinking of. ("Will you come and follow me, if I but call your name..."?) My husband and I (both musicians) keep a running medley of the worst hymns.

  2. No, but I know the one you mean, and it's on my list too! This one is "Follow meee, follow meeee, leave your homes and famil-eeee, leave your fishing nets and boats upon the shore (da-deeee daa-dum...) It'd be fun to compare lists - what else is on yours? ;-)

  3. For starters, "Go Make a Difference," "We Are Marching," and perhaps the worst offender of all time, "God Has Chosen Me."
